About Synchronicity Performance Group
Our Mission
Through collaboration, Synchronicity Performance Group creates compelling,
diverse, and thought-provoking theatre. We are dedicated to supporting women
artists, forging community partnerships and developing new work.
Programs & Services

Synchronicity serves the Metro Atlanta area.

Annually, Synchronicity presents the Bold Voices series of three
contemporary plays for adults and the Family Series of two-three musicals
for the whole family.

Each year, the company runs the Playmaking for Girls Program – an outreach
program for at-risk youth. Through workshops at local Regional Youth Detention
Centers, a summer program for girls on probation and an after-school program for
middle-school girls.

Synchronicity contributes to the growth of theatre in America through our
new play development programs.

Synchronicity is a member of Theatre Communications Group, Atlanta Coalition
for the Performing Arts, Georgia Center for Non-Profits, the Cultural Group
Sales Network and the Atlanta Convention & Visitor’s Bureau

We are committed to raising the local and national profile of the Atlanta
theatre community – and continue to create, maintain and nurture strong
relationships with local actors and designers.

Awards
Our dedication to excellence was recognized when Synchronicity won the
Metro Atlanta Arts & Business Council's 2001 Abby award for "Best New Arts
Organization." In 2005, our Playmaking for Girls program was awarded the
Kaleidoscope award from the Georgia Assembly of Community Arts Agencies (GACAA).
Co-Producing Artistic Director Rachel May was named "Best Director 2002" by
Creative Loafing for her work on two Synchronicity productions - Breath,
Boom by Kia Corthron and One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace. She is also a
recipient of the NEA/TCG Career Development Program. Hope Mirlis was
named "Best Choreographer 2000" by Creative Loafing. In addition,
Synchronicity's productions have consistently ranked in the "Year in Review"
and "Top 10" lists in many Atlanta publications.
