What is Playmaking?
Playmaking is a process of making theatre as an ensemble through creative play. Children explore improvisation, storytelling, puppetry, costumes and movement to bring a timeless folktale to life onstage.

Participants should dress comfortably and bring a labeled water bottle.
GLOBE Academy PFK - Lower Campus
Synchronicity Theatre's Playmaking for Kids program teaches children how to create theatre as an ensemble through play. Children explore drama games, improvisation, storytelling, puppetry, costumes and movement guided by experienced theatre professionals. At the end of this 14-week session, students will stage a world folktale to showcase what they've learned.

Globe Academy PFK - Upper Campus
This class will explore movement, voice, playwriting and poetry-writing in a nurturing environment where each student's voice is encouraged to shine. Throughout the class, the students will engage in improvisational acting, develop characters and learn how to transform their bodies and voices. Students will also create original pieces to present at the end of the semester. The teacher will draw from world folk tales and other diverse original sources, in support of GLOBE’s vision and culture.

Playmaking for Kids is available as an eight- to ten-week after-school program for schools and community centers. Taught by the same experienced teachers as our camps, these new Synchronicity classes offer enrichment opportunities to elementary school students.

Major funding for this organization is provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners under the guidance of FCAC.
