SheWRITES New Play Festival is a bi-annual festival of new plays that brings female playwrights from across the country to our theatre, to workshop their previously unproduced plays.
In partnership with national new play development organizations, SheWRITES provides research and development opportunities for three women playwrights.
Over the course of 10 days, Synchronicity works with the playwrights to investigate, tweak, prod, and polish their plays. Each play is given a director, a dramaturg, and a stage manager, and a cast of outstanding Atlanta actors. The goal is to provide time for each playwright to develop the play based on her own needs, culminating in a public reading/performance of each script.
